Community Garden

We are expanding a garden to grow vegetables and fruits for use in the regular hot meals provided by the comedor and for families to take home. The garden also is a space for the community to volunteer and work and serves as a model for household vegetable production within the community.

Livelihoods Support

Comedor Angelitos strengthens families’ long term food security by helping to support livelihoods on a small scale.  Comedor Angelitos has helped several women to develop and expand their small businesses by providing micro-grants and support.

 

Educational Activities

Comedor Angelitos distributes backpacks and notebooks to select children who meet specific vulnerability criteria in advance of the school year to facilitate their attendance.

We periodically host events for education and recreation, such as cooking and art activities and storytelling.

​

Additionally Comedor Angelitos leads trash collection in the neighborhood. Comedor Angelitos believes in supporting the environment, and such messages are included in all activities.
